Meet the Laketon Investment Management team

Laketon’s concentrated equity portfolios necessitate a tight-knit collaboration between senior portfolio managers and dedicated equity analysts. Senior portfolio managers direct the proprietary research and analysis of each portfolio and its investing landscape. Every member of Laketon’s investment team has intimate knowledge of the portfolio’s holdings, upcoming buy/sell opportunities and the competitive environment for each company in which they invest. The team has an average of over 20 years of industry experience.

Bradford Cann, Senior Vice-President, Equities

As Senior Vice-President, Equities, for GLC Asset Management Group Ltd. within the Laketon Investment Management division, Brad Cann is the lead portfolio manager for GLCís pure Canadian dividend mandates and the dividend-equity component of GLCís income mandates.

With more than 30 years investment experience, Brad has gained broad portfolio management and analytical research expertise with increasingly senior portfolio management roles. Since joining Laketon in 2007, Bradís career focus on yield-oriented equities has translated into his disciplined investment approach to investing in dividend-growing, quality companies through deep fundamental analysis. Prior to joining Laketon, Brad spent nine years as part of a team actively managing preferred equity and dividend equity portfolios for a leading General Insurance Company. Bradís responsibilities have also included client relationship building and overseeing an equity portfolio management team.

Graduating in the top decile of his class, Brad earned an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier and a Master of Business Administration degree from Queen's University. Brad is also a CFA charterholder and belongs to the Toronto CFA Society.

Ben Fawcett, Vice-President, Equities

As Vice-President, Equities for GLC Asset Management Group Ltd. within the Laketon Investment Management division, Ben Fawcett is lead portfolio manager for the Laketon equity growth mandates.

Prior to joining the Laketon equity team in 2004, Ben worked for a U.K.-based investment bank as an equity analyst, responsible for U.K. and European equities.

Ben is a CFA charterholder and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from York University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Co-op) from the University of Victoria.

Gregory Chu, Vice-President, Equities

As Vice-President, Equities for GLC Asset Management Group Ltd. within the Laketon Investment Management division, Gregory Chu assists in the management of the Laketon equity growth mandates.

Gregory joined the Laketon Equity team in January 2011. He started in the industry in 2003 and has focused in particular on financial modeling and valuations. Prior to joining Laketon, Gregory worked on the sell-side of the business for four years as an equity research associate in the materials sector with National Bank Financial.

Gregory is a CFA charterholder and holds an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics/Business Administration degree from the University of Waterloo.

Anthony Visano, Vice-President, Equities

As Vice-President, Equities for GLC Asset Management Group Ltd. within the Laketon Investment Management division, Anthony Visano is the lead portfolio manager for the Laketon Canadian equity value mandate.

With more than 12 years of investment experience, Anthony has developed disciplined value-based investing expertise. Prior to joining the Laketon team in 2015, Anthony worked for a Toronto-based investment counselor where he performed deep fundamental analysis while actively managing equity portfolios.

Anthony holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University. Anthony is a CFA charterholder and a member of CFA Society Toronto's Awards & University Relations Committee.
